Ragging The Puck

Ragging The Puck

A strategic play where a player intentionally slows down the game’s pace and maintains possession of the puck, often in the offensive zone, to kill time and protect a lead. This tactic is used to control the game’s tempo, prevent the opposing team from gaining possession, and run down the game clock. The team with the lead can cycle the puck along the boards, maintain possession along the perimeter, or play keep-away from the opposing players.
